Although we strive to keep our prices affordable here at RS Designs, I know that even our low prices are too much for some people’s budget. Or perhaps the problem isn’t the cost but lies instead in a your (or your spouse’s) reluctance to pay to have someone make your blog “pretty.” I’ve been there - all three places. Quite honestly, that is why I learned how to create headers in the first place: I couldn’t afford to buy one, I wouldn’t have wanted to spend money on a custom header if I did have the money, and even if I had the money and wanted to spend it that way, my husband would not have wanted me to spend money on a custom header.

Here are 5 ways you can reduce or totally eliminate the cost of getting a new design from RSD:

1. Sign up for our free newsletter. I’ve mentioned before that newsletter subscribers receive monthly subscriber-only discounts and/or incentives. If you haven’t already seen it, you should read the list of discounts given over the past several months. March’s discount was a free custom header for any subscriber who requested one.
2. Participate in a RS Designs-sponsored contest. We generally sponsor at least one contest a month and place links to each contest in several places on our website: in the sidebar under ‘Win a Design Makeover!”, near the top of our home page, and in its own individual post. (Search the Contest category if you don’t want to sift through the blog.)
3. Host a giveaway at your blog/website. Hosting a giveaway does not cost you a penny (we donate the prize, unless you insist on paying for it yourself), and hosts receive a 20% discount off their next RSD order.
4. Ask for a discount in exchange for promoting RS Designs. While we may not be able to accommodate your request, it certainly doesn’t hurt to ask.
5. Use one of our Free Designs. (This section is currently under construction, but we should have a couple of free designs up within the next week.) These pre-made blog designs will be free for a limited time only and then will be sold as Unlimited Designs. All free designs will include a header image which we will customize with your site’s title for free.
