Q: Why should I choose RS Designs to customize my site?
A: That is a great question and one that you should ask of any designer you are considering for your project.

  • First, RS Designs is affordable. Because we want as many people as possible to be able to customize their blog, we intentionally offer multiple premade designs, custom designs, and other products.
  • Second, we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee and place no limit on revisions, meaning that we will work with you until you are completely satisfied with your design. You won’t find many other designers making both those promises.
  • Third, we do not equate “affordable” with low-quality designs or shoddy workmanship. It does not matter if you are a giveaway winner or if you place a $200 order; you will receive the very best we have to give, both in terms of design and of customer service.

Q: Do you only design for Blogger?
A: No. While most of our clients use Blogger and our current premade designs are created for Blogger, we have experience working with WordPress.com (custom header only unless you purchase the Custom CSS upgrade), self-hosted WordPress, TypePad Plus and Pro, and Homeschool Blogger.  We are willing to design for any blogging platform that allows you to customize your template yourself.  We have also created hand-coded websites that do not use a blogging platform at all.

If you blog on a platform other than Blogger, our premade designs can be adapted to be compatible with your blogging platform by purchasing the $20 Non-Blogger Design Adaptation add-on.

Q: What does OOAK mean?
A: OOAK stands for One Of A Kind and means that design will only be sold one time.

Q: What is an advertising banner, and how would I use it?
A: An advertising banner is an image created specifically for use as an advertisement for your blog or website. You would use this image at sites that offer free advertising or where you have purchased ad space.

Q: What is a button, and how would I use it?
A: A button is really a small banner. In our experience, the most popular sizes are 125×125 and 120×190 (not included on the size chart). Often, a button is used in the blogger’s sidebar and includes a textbox below which contains code that others can copy and paste into their own blog or website. This can be used as another method of promoting your blog and subtly encouraging people to link to you.

Q: What is a background image, and how would I use it?
A: A background image is a small image that is placed in the background and repeats in such a way that the repetitions create a seamless pattern. For example, my personal blog features a plaid background. The image is quite small and repeats, but no one can tell from the final effect.

Q: What is a custom divider, and how would I use it?
A: A custom divider divides the different parts of your blog/site. It could be a pattern, stripes, or something else that stands out. You can either use a custom divider between your posts/articles, in your sidebar to separate the sidebar content, or as a vertical divider to divide your main section and your sidebar. The idea is to indicate the end of the section in a manner that enhances your blog’s appearance.

Q: What is a favicon, and how would I use it?
A: A favicon is the little picture that shows to the left of a URL in your web browser’s address bar and in your bookmarks/favorites. Having a custom favicon that coordinates with your site’s design makes your site more memorable to your readers.

Example: twitter.com uses as stylized t as their favicon.
